The North Carolina State University (NCSU) chapter was established in 2017 by Ryan Hobbs. The goal of this chapter is to support the design and creation of upper limb prosthetic devices. The NCSU chapter supports 5-9 case teams, responsible for creating customized creational prosthetics and task based devices. They also have an electromechanical team which has focused on building a nerve sensing robotic prosthetic. In addition, the NCSU chapter has a support team which hosts chapter conferences and family events and an outreach and public relations team which connects with local schools and businesses to raise awareness for the upper limb difference community. Since it’s creation, the NCSU chapter has recruited over 100 members and developed over 30 devices!
